About the Author

Michelle A. Gibson is Professor Emerita of the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Cincinnati. Her scholarship focuses on Sexuality Studies and pedagogy. Her most recent writing applies queer and postmodern identity theories to pedagogical practice and popular culture. In retirement, she writes and publishes poetry and maintains a blog called ProfSpazz at http://profspazz.com. With Jonathan Alexander, she edited QP: Queer Poetry, an online poetry journal, and she and Alexander also edited a strain of JAC: Journal of Advanced Composition titled “Queer Composition(s).” With Deborah Meem, she coedited Femme/Butch: New Considerations of the Way We Want to Go (2002) and Lesbian Academic Couples (2005).

Jonathan Alexander is Chancellor’s Professor of English and Gender & Sexuality Studies at the University of California, Irvine. He is author, co-author, or editor of twelve books, including Sexual Rhetorics: Methods, Identities, Publics (co-edited with Jacqueline Rhodes, Routledge, 2015), Techne: Queer Meditations on Writing the Self (co-authored with Jacqueline Rhodes, Computers and Composition Digital Press, September 2015), Bisexuality and Queer Theory: Intersections, Connections and Challenges (co-edited with Serena Anderlini D’Onofrio, Routledge, 2012), Literacy, Sexuality, Pedagogy: Theory and Practice (Utah State, 2008), and Bisexuality and Transgenderism: InterSEXions of the Others (co-edited with Karen Yescavage, Routledge, 2004).

Deborah T. Meem is Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Cincinnati. Her academic specialties are Victorian literature, LGBTQ Studies, and the 19th-century woman’s novel. She earned a PhD from Stony Brook University in 1985. Her work has appeared in Journal of the History of Sexuality, Feminist Teacher, Studies in Popular Culture, and elsewhere. She has edited four works by Victorian novelist and journalist Eliza Lynn Linton: The Rebel of the Family (Broadview, 2002), Realities (Valancourt, 2010), The Autobiography of Christopher Kirkland (Victorian Secrets, 2011) and Sowing the Wind (Victorian Secrets, 2015). With Michelle Gibson, she coedited Femme/Butch: New Considerations of the Way We Want to Go (2002) and Lesbian Academic Couples (2005), both published by Routledge Press. With Jonathan Alexander, she wrote “Dorian Gray, Tom Ripley, and the Queer Closet” (CLCWeb, 2003).

RUSS HOUSLEY is Chief Scientist for SPYRUS, a leading provider of security products. He is a member of the President's Export Council Subcommittee on Encryption, and chair of the IETF S/MIME Working Group.
TIM POLK is the technical lead for PKI at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He has participated in federal PKI projects, such as the Federal Bridge CA project, since 1995. He has contributed to the development of many standards including PKIX Part 1. He is currently the co-chair of the IETF PKIX Working Group.

Excellent compilation of weapons. Only slight issue is the print which is apparently a reproduction of magazine articles so lacks a bit in clarity for my old eyes.

A great reference source, don't expect a definitive write up for every weapon. But that isn't the intent of the book. I recommend.

When we received the book it had a $20 price tag in it. We paid 2 times that price. Ridiculous

About the Author

Rodolfo Gambini did his undergraduate work at the University of the Republic of Uruguay, went for a Ph.D. at the University of Paris and joined the faculty at the Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela. He returned to Uruguay in 1997 where he has been director of several government funding agencies in addition to being a Professor at the University of the Republic. He has won the Trieste Prize in Physics, the presidential prize for scientific accomplishment in Uruguay and received an honorary doctorate from the University of the Republic.

Jorge Pullin did his undergraduate work at the Instituto Balseiro in Bariloche, Argentina, did his Ph.D. thesis work at the University of Cordoba and moved as a post-doc to Syracuse University and the University of Utah. He became a faculty member at PennState and in 2001 joined the Louisiana State University as the Horace
Hearne Chair in Theoretical Physics. He is the co-director of the Horace Hearne Institute of Theoretical Physics and the interim co-director of the Center for Computation and Technology at the Louisiana State University. He was the chair of the Topical Group in Gravitation of the American Physical Society and served on the editorial boards of Classical and Quantum Gravity and the New Journal of Physics and is currently on the board of Living Reviews, Papers in Physics and is managing editor of International Journal of Modern Physics D.

Overall, the content of the book is fine, but it is not written well. The explanation of concepts and methods is limited. It is evident that different authors handled different section resulting in inconsistencies and disconnects between chapters. The authors cover a lot of material, but at very little depth. The content in several sections is dated and could use updating. I read the book in order to review the topic, but I really had to force myself to finish the text.

This book is somewhat convoluted in its descriptions. While it is very thorough in the material, it's practice problems do not match the example problems at all and there are not solutions in the back which makes things even more difficult.

I bought this for my girlfriend at the time. She thought it was quite informative. She certainly passed the class based on her smarts and ability to find information in this book. I don't care...

Incredibly dense and hard to follow this book. I don't know what other facilities texts are like, but I can haven't used it for anything other than homework problems.- Pitt IE student
